PURPOSE:To contrive improvement in productivity by a method wherein the surface on the opposite side of the surface of the solid polarizable electrode, which is brought into contact with a separator, and the current-collecting material, which comes in contact with a gasket, and the contact part of the gasket are brought into a liquid-tight state by applying pressure. CONSTITUTION:A basic cell forming part C consists of the parts such as a gasket 5, a solid polarizable electrode 6, a separator 7, a solid polarizable electrode 6, a gasket 5 and a current-collecting material 4 arranged in the above- mentioned order from the bottom. The solid polarizable electrode 6 is formed by molding activated charcoal powder by sintering or calcination, and an electrolyte is impregnated therein. Accordingly, the internal resistance of the basic cell can be reduced by merely improving the contact between the current- collecting material 4 and the solid polarizable electrode 6, and as a result, the pressure applied to the basic cell can be reduced. Consequently, workability becomes better, productivity is improved, and an electric double-layer capacitor, having no liquid leakage due to deterioration of a bonding agent, can be obtained. |
