A mould for the continuous vertical casting of steel strip has cooled broadside walls which form over the first two-thirds of the height and width an enlarged pour-in region. The latter is reduced sideways and in the pouring direction to the strip dimensions. Pref. mould has two broadside walls and two narrow side walls which are adjustable by feedscrews. The broadside walls form a pour-in region for the tundish tube so that molten steel fills the mould up to the specified level.
