PURPOSE:To make it possible to electrically insulate both activated charcoal layers completely by a method wherein fiber-like activated charcoal is burnt out passing through a separator by applying high voltage between the activated charcoal layers located on both sides of the separator. CONSTITUTION:High voltage is applied between activated charcoal layers 1 and 4 located on both sides of a separator 7, and the fiber-like activated charcoal, which connects the activated charcoal layers 1 and 4 across the separator 7 is burnt out. When high voltage such as DC or AC voltage of commercial AC power source of 100V, for example, is applied between the fiber-like activated charcoal layers 1 and 4 which are the electrodes located on both sides of the separator 7, Joule's heat is generated on the fiber-like activated charcoal connecting both activated charcoal layers 1 and 4 crossing the separator 7, and the fiber-like activated charcoal is burnt out in a short time without giving an effect on the separator and the activated charcoal layers. As a result, the fibrous activated charcoal layers 1 and 4, located on both sides of the separator 7, can be electrically insulated completely. |
