Use of dental filling compsn. with high filler content - to fix inlay, onlay or facing by high frequency vibration

Dental filling compsns. with a high filler content are used to fix inlays, onlays and facings by high-frequency vibration. The vibration frequency is pref. 200 Hz-1MHz (at least 10,000 Hz), and is applied by an ultrasonic appts., esp. with an intermediate layer between the appts. and the part to be attached. The filling compsn. contains (a) 60-95 (70-90) wt.% of inorganic filler, (b) 4-39.99%(9-29.9%) of ethylenically unsatd. polymerisable monomers and/or polymers, (c) 0.01-3% (0.1-2%) of photoinitiators, and opt. (d) activators, initiators for a redox polymerisation, pigments, radiopaque additives and/or thixotropising agents. (a) The average grain size of the filler is not above 5 microns, and the upper limit is 25 microns. Esp., the average size is 0.02-0.06 microns, and 65-85% of the grains havee average size of 1-5 microns. (b) The component is a (meth)acrylic ester of a mono-or poly-alcohol. ADVANTAGE - The compsns. are transparent, mechanically strong, and low-shrink. By using high-frequency vibration, the compsns. are easy-flowing, give good wetting, and can be used in min. film thickness.
