PURPOSE:To improve responsiveness of gear change by instantaneously generating a gear change command to a gear change step to be achieved when a power generating section changes from driven to drive conditions again until the corresponding gear change is commanded after judgement for gear change occurs. CONSTITUTION:For example, when judgement for gear change from a second speed step (idle run step) to a third speed step occurs by releasing an accelerator pedal and there is no change of input system from drive to driven condition, it is considered to be gear change from the second speed step to the third speed step in usual drive condition, and the corresponding gear change command is given quickly. If it is judged that there is change from drive to driven conditions, it is judged whether there is change of input system from driven to drive or not. When there is change from driven to drive conditions again, a gear change command is given based on the judgement for gear change which accompanies with the change from driven to driven conditions immediately. On the other hand, when there is no change from driven to drive conditions and it is judged that rotation of input and output shafts is synchronous, gear change command from the second speed step to the third speed step is given. |
