The invention concerns a switch electromagnetic roller.According to the invention, the roller consists of electromagnetic modules such as the shielded electromagnets whose windings have a trapezoidal-shaped section and which are polarized in turns to minimize the time constant so as to be able to work at high transportation speed of the module plates lined on a common axle supported by two bearing boxes with needle bearings that can rotate. At the exterior, the roller has a non-magnetic stainless steel tube supported by two self-aligning bearings fixed vertically on the box of the needle bearings. The tube can be rotated by a flange to which it is connected.
