PURPOSE:To prevent the film floatation and peeling of fluorine layer from occuring and consequently improve the service life of a roller by a method wherein the surface of silicone rubber layer is ground so as to produce the surface roughness having the specified value or more and, after that, coated with latex made of fluorine rubber-containing fluorine-based polymeric substance and then fired. CONSTITUTION:A roller core shaft is subjected to pretreatment such as degreasing, blasting and the like and, after being coated with primer, set in a mold. Silicone rubber layer is produced on the shaft by pouring silicone rubber through the primer in the mold so as to cover the shaft by vulcanizingly bonding or the like. Next, the surface of the resultant silicone rubber layer is finished to the predetermined outer diameter with a cylindrical grinder, for example, so as to have the surface roughness of Rz 10 mum or coarser, preferably Rz 20mum or coarse. Next, latex made of fluorine rubber-containing fluorine-based polymeric substance is applied through primer by spaying, dip coating, with a doctor knife or the like and, afte that, dried or fired so as to manufacture an elastic roller. |
