PURPOSE:To provide a sliding nozzle device which prevents the generation of negative pressure and improves the durability of refractory plates by blowing an inert gas to the anticipated negative pressure or vortex generating zone to be formed below a sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:A porous member 2 is fitted to the circumferential edge of the bottom end of a stationary plate 1 and the surface of this member 2 is brought into contact with the flow of moten metal and the bottom surface thereof is formed to the sliding surface. A gas introducing hole 3 for introduction of inert gas such as gaseous Ar is connected to the member 2. Here, 4 is a sliding plate and 5 is a chariging hole. An inert gas such as Ar of required pressure is blown through an introducing hole 3 and the member 2 into the corner part 7 formed of the plate 1 and the plate 4 during throttling of said gas. Thereby, the generation of negative pressure is prevented, the inclusion of air is prevented, and the generation of vortexes by the formation of cavities is prevented. |
