PURPOSE:To correct the depth-directional irregularity of a photosensitive body automatically by arranging detecting means which detect the density of a reference image formed on a photosensitive body, comparing their outputs, and controlling the conditions of an increasing process according to their comparison values. CONSTITUTION:The reference image is formed in an area of the photosensitive body 1 entirely in the direction crossing the moving direction of the photosensitive body 1 at right angles and the plural detecting means 16 detect the density of the reference image. Then the outputs of the detecting means 16 are compared to control at least one of the conditions of an image forming process such as toner density correction by toner supplementation, the illuminance correction of an exposure device, the corrections of the distance of an electrostatic charger 2 from the photosensitive body 1 and its voltage, and the bias voltage correction of a developing device 13. Consequently, the depth-directional density is made constant automatically. |
