Composition used in making shoes consists essentially of (a) thermoplastic material with a M.W. lower than desirable for forming fibres, pref. a polyamide, (b) small proportion of compound to lower the melt viscosity and retard the solidification, e.g. microcrystalline wax and/or polyester, (c) small proportion of material to lower the viscosity and (d) small proportion of insoluble short fibre-like solid to stop entrapment of bubbles, is applied to a substrate as a hot melt. Used for reinforcing the toe-caps of shoes. |
