Process for preparation of halogenated phenol-aldehyde condensation cpd. derivs. of formula (I) comprises an addition reaction and dehydration condsn. reaction of hlogenated phenol and aldehyde using sulfuric acid as a catalyst in a halogenated methane solvent, neutralization of the mixt., and filtration of it. In (I), R is H, methyl, ethyl, (iso)propyl or butyl; X1 is F, Cl, Br or I. (I) are useful as insecticides.
