METHOD OF EXTRACTING IRON FROM A PULP CONTAINING COMPOUNDS OF HEAVY NON-FERROUS METALS

A method of extracting iron from a pulp containing compounds of heavy non-ferrous metals provides, first for treating the pulp with sulphuric lye in the presence of sulphuric acid. Then the thus treated pulp mixed with the sulphuric acid is dispersed with vapour at a temperature of 115-140 DEG C. The air is blown through the obtained reaction mass after which the latter is neutralized. The iron-containing sediment obtained is then separated.
