To produce the locking connection in the case of an anti-theft device in the shape of a strip of single-part construction of flexible material, a locking stud is inserted into a locking stud accommodation after the strip has been bent. The locking stud runs at an angle at an acute or obtuse angle with respect to the surface of the strip. Since the locking stud has an inherent elasticity it is relatively simple to press back on insertion into the locking stud accommodation and, after overcoming the insertion resistance, returns into its original position, as a result of which it comes to bear at the inner stop of the locking stud accommodation. As a result, it is no longer possible to undo the locking connection without destroying the strip.
