The swimming pool submerged-surface cleaning device comprises a head (10) having at least one inlet (18) which opposes the surface to be cleaned. A spigot connects the head to a suction source to cause water to flow through the inlet. A turbine (24) is driven by the water flowing through the inlet and drives a propellor (36). The propellor propels the head over the surface to be cleaned. The head has a rudder (54) to steer it over the surface.
