PURPOSE:To obtain the metallic thin film-type magnetic recording medium exhibiting excellent traveling property and wear resistance under the wide range of temp. and humidity conditions by incorporating a fluorine-contg. ester compd. having a CHF2 group on its terminal into the surface of a ferromagnetic metallic thin film. CONSTITUTION:The fluorine-contg. ester compd. having a CHF2 group on its terminal and shown by the formula is incorporated into the surface of the ferromagnetic metallic thin film provided on a nonmagnetic substrate to obtain the metallic thin film-type magnetic recording medium. As a result, the medium exhibits excellent traveling property and wear resistance under the wide range of temp. conditions. In the formula, n is an integer of 1-20, n is an integer of 1-6 and R is a >=9C hydrocarbonic group. The metallic thin film-type mag netic recording medium having a fluorine-contg. ester compd. on the surface is excellent in the mu value and repetitive traveling property, and the characteristics are realized under the wide range of conditions from high temp. and humidity to low humidity. |
