The invention relates to a diaphragm-type carburettor with an air filter connected to its inlet. The combustion air passes into the intake passage of the diaphragm-type carburettor via the air filter and, together with the fuel drawn in, forms a fuel/air mixture which enters the adjoining combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. In order to avoid overenrichment of the mixture if the filter material of the air filter is soiled, the invention envisages that the compensation space of the diaphragm-type carburettor should be connected exclusively to the clean-air side of the air filter. Diaphragm-type carburettor on two-stroke engines for manually guided implements such as motorised chainsaws, parting-off grinders, brush saws etc.
