The present invention relates to an apparatus for selectively dispensing products in sheet form. Apparatus, characterised in that it is provided, between the separator device 3 of the intake receptacle 1 and the folding unit 5, with a reading zone 6 surmounted by a bar code reading assembly 7, in that a pause track 8 equipped with a retaining gate 9 is fitted downstream of the folding unit 5, in that cells 10 to 12 for detecting faults of routing are positioned in the reading zone 6 and at the junction between the folding unit 5 and the pause track 8 and in that the detection cells 10 to 12 and the bar code reading assembly 7 are connected to an automatic programmable unit or to a microcomputer 13 or other automatic means that controls the sheet 2 extraction means 4, the folding unit 5 and the retaining gate 9 of the pause track 8. <IMAGE>
