Cutting machine with cutter-clamping system. In a cutting machine, in particular a plane, the risk of injury when removing chips jammed in the planing shaft is to be reduced, and mounting of the cutter is to be facilitated. At the same time, the noise is to be reduced. To this end, two profiled parts (6, 7) are clamped in a groove (12) in the cutter holder (5) by means of a clamping device (30) while the cutter (4) is being held. The profiled parts (6, 7) form a closed gap-free surface in the groove (12). The diameter of the circle of rotation of the cutter (4) can be adjusted independently of the clamping device (30) by means of a screw adjustment (27). This cutter-clamping system can be used in all cutting machines, such as planes or milling machines, in which cutters must be clamped.
