PURPOSE:To improve strength and dimensional accuracy by mixing polysaccharides originating from natural products with nonplastic inorganic powder. CONSTITUTION:A body composition for forming inorganic powder obtained by kneading nonplastic inorganic powder (e.g. alumina) having <=1mum particle diameter with 0.1-10wt.% polysaccharides (e.g. curdlan) originating from natural products and having water holding properties and, as necessary, a forming assistant (e.g. CMC) in an amount of 0.1-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. inorganic powder, a surfactant (e.g. polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether), a lubricant (e.g. zinc stearate), etc., and water. The resultant composition is then formed into an optional shape, dried and calcined to afford a calcined product. |
