The invention relates to spinning disc spray apparatus wherein liquid or powder supplied to the upper surface of a spinning disc is centrifuged to fall under gravity onto a receiving surface. The conventional spinning disc produces an annular spray pattern of narrow radial width. The present invention provides a spining disc spray apparatus affording a more uniform distribution of the dispensed material by providing a disc (11) comprising a central annulus surrounded by a discharge annulus, the discharge annulus having openings (14) which allow discharge of material therethrough. In one preferred embodiment the openings (14) comprise radial slots, defining vanes (15) extending radially from the central annulus and the vanes (15) are twisted to generate downwardly directed air currents which assist distribution. The disc (11) disclosed is particularly advantageous in electro-static depositing apparatus wherein the particles distributed have mutually rejecting charges and the hood includes, or surrounds, means having a charge to reject the particles. |
