PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability by furnishing No.1 emergency locking means to lock rotation of a reel shaft, and providing No.2 locking means to lock a seat belt in linkage with this No.1 emergency locking means. CONSTITUTION:When an abrupt acceleration is applied, the release end 35d of an acceleration sensor 35 is detained with a ratchet 28a on a flywheel 28, which is rotated relative to a reel shaft 11 to rotate a pawl 17, rotating in turn an interlock member 33 to cause detection with a ratchet wheel 15, and another interlock member 32 will displaces up in the plumb direction. This rotates a rotational pinching member 19 to pinch a seat belt 12 together with a slide pinching member 18, and the belt 12 will be locked (No.2 emergency locking means 14). When a tensile force is applied to this belt 12, the friction forces between the members, 18, 19 and belt 12 further increase the pinching force, and meantime the pawl 17 is put in engagement with the wheel 15 to provide lock of the rotation of the shaft 11 (No.1 emergency locking means 13). |
