<p>PURPOSE:To enable reduction of a printer cost by a method wherein a single sheet detecting sensor is disposed switchably and movably between a conveyance for a cutform sheet and a conveyance passage for a continuous sheet. CONSTITUTION:A sheet detecting sensor 26 is held by a holding member 27 and is vertically movably disposed in a space part 28 formed with a conveyance guide member 21 for a cutform sheet and a conveyance guide member 24 for a continuous sheet. An arm 29 is mounted in a suspension state to the holding member 27, and the tip part of a lever 31 interlocked with a use switching lever 30 for a cutform sheet and a continuous sheet is coupled to the lower end part of the arm 29. In this constitution, control of the lever 31 causes switching and movement of the single sheet detecting sensor 26 to a conveyance passage 22 for a cutform sheet or a conveyance passage 25 for a continuous sheet, situated in the vicinity of a platen 20, and enables execution of a motion, e.g., detection of the presence of the head positioning sheet of sheets. Since a single sensor suffices for operation of a printer, a cost can be reduced.</p> |
