The invention relates to a method and means for the at least occasional pressure compensation of containers which at least partly or occasionally contain or develop gases, in particular as a result of external action or triggering, but are normally to be closed gas-tight. A sealing plug is proposed which in a simple manner provides for pressure compensation to the atmosphere at a vacuum or positive pressure in a container.
