PURPOSE:To prevent completely a developer from being stuck to the face of a latent image carrier, by providing a liquid supply means in a developing means which is arranged in the side part of the latent image carrier. CONSTITUTION:In the normal operation, a developing roll 41 energized by a solenoid 42 is brought into contact with the surface of a photosensitive dum 1 and applies the developer, which is drawn up by a drawing-up motor 47, to the surface of the drum 1 uniformly while turning and develops the latent image formed on the surface of the drum 1 through charge and exposure processes. When a main switch is turned off after the end of a prescribed copy, power supply to the solendoid 42 and the motor 47 is broken. At this time, a main motor which drives the drum 1 and a squeeze roll 45 is rotated continuously, and the developer on the drum 1 between rolls 41 and 45 and the developer remaining between the drum 1 and the roll 45 are scraped by the roll 45. |
