A REACTOR FOR OPTICAL-FIBER PREFORM

A reaction vessel for optical preform consists of the inner wall (1) formed of acid-resistant metal e.g. nickel or nickel alloy, a layer (2) of thermal insulation between the walls, the outer wall (3) equiped with water circulation pipes (4). The vessel has little cracking from thermal stress and has an arbitary shape.
