Thiazoleazo dyes of the formula <IMAGE> where X is nitrogen or C-R<5>, where R<5> is cyano, halogen, C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl or thiocyanato, R<1> is cyano, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C4-alkylthio, 2-(C1-C2-alkoxycarbonyl)ethylthio, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, substituted or unsubstituted thienyl or substituted or unsubstituted pyridyl, R<2> is C1-C8-alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl or substituted or unsubstituted thienyl, and R<3> and R<4> are each independently of the other C1-C4-alkyl or C3-C12-alkyl whose alkyl chain is interrupted by oxygen atoms, with the proviso that R<3> and R<4> are not both C1-C4-alkyl, are useful for dyeing textile fibres.
