PURPOSE:To eliminate the limitation of the space for attachment of an air cushion by forming a closed gas expansion bag inside a bag forming an external back in an integrated form, and by closing plural air inlet ports provided with a check valve on the bag of the external back. CONSTITUTION:In collision between cars, gas generation agents 3, 3' in closed elastic gas expansion bags 2, 2' provided symmetrically being integrated in an external back 1 are ignited, for the instant expansion of the gas expansion bags 2, 2'. The external back 1 integrated with the gas expansion bags 2, 2' is also forced to open wide in an instant at the same time, by which the inside of the external back 1 becomes negative in pressure, and the interior air is sucked from air inlet ports 6, 8 with a check valve 7 opened to the external back 1, in the external back 1, which is also developed to instant expansion. Since the interior air of low temperature is used for the expansion of the external back, the pressure can be held for a certain period of time. The air cushion is small and light so that the degree of freedom is increased when it is attached to an automobile. |
