PURPOSE:To obtain a non-oriented electrical steel sheet having low iron loss and high magnetic flux density and reduced in in-plane anisotropy by subjecting a steel slab having a specific composition reduced in Si content to hot rolling and to winding up at low temp. and then applying a combination of annealing and cold rolling at high draft to the resulting hot rolled plate. CONSTITUTION:A steel having a composition consisting of, by weight, <=0.01% C, >0.3-<1.0% Si, 0.1-0.7% Mn, <=0.1% P, <=0.008% S, <=0.05% Al and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is cast. The steel slab is hot-rolled at >=Ar3 point finishing temp. and wound up at <=700 deg.C. This hot rolled steel plate is annealed at a temp. between 700 deg.C and the Ac1 point. Successively, the above steel plate is cold-rolled at 75-90% draft to the final sheet thickness and then finish-annealed. Further, 0.1-0.5% Al is incorporated in the above slab, if necessary. By this method, the non-oriented electrical steel sheet suitable for use in iron core material for rotating machine, such as compact motor, can be manufactured with high productivity. |
