PURPOSE:To obtain the subject durable felt excellent in holding power of abrasive grains without melting and forming films in polishing by constructing a pad of a polishing felt body from aramid fibers, impregnating the pad with a thermosetting resin and forming a cushioning unit consisting thereof. CONSTITUTION:A polishing felt, obtained by impregnating staples (S) of a pad 3 constructed from heat-resistant aramid fibers or using the fibers as a main material in a polishing felt body 1 consisting of a base fabric 2 and the pad 3 with a thermosetting urethane resin, curing the resin to form a cushioning unit, capable of improving polishing quality with good polishing efficiency without melting or forming films from the staples (S) of the pad with heat in polishing and excellent in durability. |
