PURPOSE:To eliminate any occurrence of a paper jam attendant upon misregistration of a sorting part so effectively by setting the sorting part in a storage space, once putting it back in an initial state for new sorting, after removing a jammed medium. CONSTITUTION:In the case where an upper jamming error has occurred when a sorting part 2 is in an optional spot of small storage parts 1A, 1B, 1C and so on lined up at regular intervals, first a paper jammed medium is removed. Next, when a sorting process is made to be continued again, the sorting part 2 is moved toward a starting position till an initial state detecting sensor 3 is operated, whereby the sorting part 2 is put back in an initial state. Afterward, this sorting part 2 is set to an optional spot of the storage where the paper jam has occurred and the sorting process is resumed. |
