PURPOSE: To obtain a filler, comprising a cross-linked poly(meth)acrylate having a specific swelling degree, a specified cross-linking degree and a specific particle diameter, readily wettable, easily dispersible and mixable in a dental monomer according to a simple method. CONSTITUTION: This filler comprises a cross-linked poly(meth)acrlate having 100-2,000wt.% swelling degree and 50-100wt.%, preferably 85-100wt.% cross- linking degree measured by the ability to absorb THF at 20 deg.C and 0.01-10μm, preferably 0.05-5μm average particle diameter. The poly(meth)acrylate preferably has 95-100wt.% gel content based on the polymer and 50-300m<2> /g active surface area (measured by a BET method). A mixture of 10-25wt.% filler, 50-60wt.% bisphenol A diglycidyl dimethacrylate, 25-30wt.% triethylene glycol dimethacrylate and 0.5wt.% dibenzoyl peroxide is especially preferred for producing an artificial tooth. |
