PURPOSE:To obtain a composition for suppressing formation of dental calculus free from astringency caused by polyphosphate, acidity, etc., containing both a straight-chain or cyclic polyphosphate and spice selected from methyl salicylate, cinnamic aldehyde and spice oleo resin. CONSTITUTION:A composition for oral cavity containing 0.1-10wt.% polyphosphate selected from a compound shown by formula I (M is Na or K; n is >=2) and a compound shown by formula II (m>=3) and 0.1-0.2wt.% methyl salicylate, 0.01-0.03wt.% cinnamic aldehyde or 0.001-0.02wt.% spice oleo resin. The composition has inhibitory action on formation of dental calculus, has no astringency and no acidity even in blending of a sufficient amount of the polyphosphate by adding the spice and has excellent flavor and feeling in use. |
