PURPOSE:To attain strong suppressing effect in high safety without deteriorating the taste and flavor by using a mucous material produced by Brevibacterium linens as an active component. CONSTITUTION:Brevibacterium linens is cultured in a medium containing a carbon source, nitrogen source, inorganic material, vitamins, amino acids, etc., at about pH 8.0 and 20-35 deg.C for 24-72hr under aerobic condition e.g. by shaking culture. The obtained cultured product is centrifuged at about 3,000rpm for 20min to separate a mucous substance and/or bacterial cell. The mucous substanc, etc., are formed in the form of pharmaceutical preparation to obtain the objective antimutagenic agent suppressing the mutagenicity of 2-(2-furyl)-3-(5- nitrofutyl)-acrylamide (AF-2) having strong mutagenicity. |
