PURPOSE:To confirm the propriety of a transaction by reading and displaying the relevant transaction confirmation code stored in an IC card together with the transaction confirmation code produced from the transaction data in case no coincidence of collation is obtained between the transaction data and the transaction confirmation code received via a slip. CONSTITUTION:A card production controller has the input of the amount, the account number, the date of transaction and the transaction confirmation code written on a transaction slip P to a host computer of a center. The host computer uses a system common code (1st proper data) and a producer proper code (2nd proper data) stored internally as the ciphering keys for production of a 2nd confirmation code and compares this code with a 2nd confirmation code included in the transaction confirmation code of the slip P. Then it is confirmed whether a transaction is correctly performed or not at a retail store. Thus it is possible to easily confirm the propriety of the transaction. |
