The present invention relates to a method of mounting a medallion attached to a panel, or the like, which is preformed, and a panel fitted with a such a medallion. The method is characterised in that it essentially consists in inserting the periphery of the medallion 1 into a groove 3 of small cross-section, of shape corresponding to that of the perimeter of the said medallion 1, and in fixing the said periphery in the bottom of the said groove 3 by fusion (thermal) welding, by induction, or by other means, so as to obtain an invisible welding seam between the medallion 1 and the panel 2. <IMAGE>
