PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity of the sensitive material to infra-red rays, and to reduce the residual color and to improve the preservability against the lapse of time by incorporating a specified oxonol dyestuff in the hydrophilic colloid layer contd. in the sensitive material contg. a prescribed sensitizing dye. CONSTITUTION:The sensitive material comprises an emulsion layer composed of a silver halide particle spectrally sensitized with a cation type tricarbocyanine dye and/or a cation type dicarbocyanine dye A and the hydrophilic colloid layer contg. the oxonol dyestuff shown by formula I. In the formula, Q1 and Q2 are each a group capable of forming a carbon or a heterocyclic ring, L is methine group, (n) is 3 or 4. The dyestuff shown by the formula is composed of a compd. shown by formula II, etc. And the infra-red sensitizing dye A is composed of a compd. shown by formula III, etc. In the formula, Y11 and Y12 are each an atom. group necessary for completing a 5-6 membered nitrogen contg. heterocyclic ring, R11 and R12 are each alkyl or aryl group, etc., R13-R15 are each hydrogen atom. or alkyl group, etc., X11<-> is an anion, (n11) and (n12) are each 0 or 1. |
