PURPOSE: To prevent diameter of the conductive shell body for a connector from limiting the size of the connector, by making the shell body of convergent- side plane partitioning a tool receiving cavity which continuously opens in two orthogonal direction, and by using a length of a cover which covers the cavities and expands in the orthogonal directions. CONSTITUTION: The conductive shell body 7 for a connector includes astriding between its facing sides 10, 10 crossing side faces 8, 9 partitioning a tool receiving cavity 11 which opens in two orthogonal directions shown by X-axis and Y-axis. The connector 1 contains a slender conductive cover 51 made of a metal band. Hooks 52, 53 are attached to both ends of the cover 51. One hook 52 contains a pair of tabs 54, 54 overlapping on the corner edge 55 of the cavity 11. The tabs 54, 54 are spaced each other and partitions a key channel 56. Thus, diameter of the shell body 7 does not restrict the size of the connector.
