PURPOSE:To attain smooth opening and shutting of a sliding window panel utilizing a small space, by fixing a cable to a window panel holder, supporting a sliding window panel, and by making the holder slide inside a sliding groove provided in a guide channel. CONSTITUTION:A sliding window system for a vehicle is constituted of a horizon tally sliding window panel 3, a window panel holder 4, fixed to the lower part of the sliding window panel 3, and a guide channel 16 equipped with a sliding groove 19, containing the holder 4 and allowing it to slide horizontally. An endless cable 7, fixed to the window panel holder 4 and capable of moving inside the sliding groove 19, and a driving device 11 that drives the cable 7 are also provided. The driving device 11 consists of a winding bobbin 35 that winds the cable 7, a driving member 37 that drives the bobbin 35 through a reduction member 36, and a tension member 38. The driving force of the cable 7 directly affects the window panel holder 4, enabling the window panel 3 to slide smoothly inside the sliding groove 19, and opening and shutting without staggering can be made thereby, allowing no time lag between the operations of the driving device and the panel holder nor shaking. |
