PURPOSE:To reduce the irregularity and shift quantity of a printing position caused by the tension or slackening of paper, by a method wherein the advance and retraction operations of paper feed are repeated by predetermined quantity before the next operation such as printing or line feed is started after line feed operation or the movement to the next page due to the finish of the printing of one page. CONSTITUTION:In the paper feed control method of a printer for printing continuous form paper, when a line feed operation order is issued, it is judged whether line feed is forward or reverse one and, only when said line feed is forward one and the result of the line feed becomes the next page, the following operations are performed. That is, one of them is line feed quantity correcting operation (within a circle) repeating the advance and retraction operations of paper feed by predetermined quantity two times after paper feed (FF) is performed and, thereafter, printing ( HH...) is performed. The other of them is operation after the line feed of one page and, for example, the line feed quantity correcting operation (within the circle) is performed in succession to ... HH... HH... to transfer to printing ( HH...). As a result of the line feed quantity correcting operation, the error of a line feed position is returned to zero at each time of page feed and, therefore, excessive slackening or tensioning is not allowed to stand as it is and no error is accumulated. |
