Apparatus for recording a radial diffraction grating comprises a source (7) of a laser beam, a double-beam interferometer (8) and a rotatable disc (3) having it surface coated with a light-sensitive layer (4), arranged one in front of the other in the path (A) of the laser beam. The optical lines (14 and 15) of the respective arms (12 and 13) of the interferometer (8) intersect in an intersection point (Q) belonging to the surface of the light-sensitve layer (4) in the area of recording the diffraction grating (5). The arms (12 and 13) include optical elements (22 and 23), e.g. short-focus lenses for shaping in each respective arm a divergent beam of laser radiation with a spherical wavefront, passing through the light-sensitive layer (4) of the disc (3) in the area of the recording of the grating (5), in the direction from the axis of the disc (3) toward the periphery thereof. <IMAGE>
