The invention relates to a swivel measuring head in a linear transmitter of an incremental measuring system for length measurements in systems with transverse movements. It consists in that a) a flange (1) is fastened to the system to be measured, b) a further flange (2) is provided on this flange (1) as seat for an axial swivel bearing (3) and simultaneously as mounting for a swivel head (4), c) a cylindrical roll shaft disc (5) is mounted concentrically, by means of a ring (6), on the axial swivel bearing (3), d) arranged on the cylinder roll shaft disc (5) is a ball bearing collar (7), on which there is a further cylinder roll shaft disc (8), e) mounted on the cylinder roll shaft disc (8) is a rotating part (9), in which there is a further axial swivel bearing (10), f) a spring holder (11) screwed onto the swivel head (4) effects a bias via cup springs (12), g) the measuring head is coupled to a push rod (14) via an alignment flange (13) screwed onto the rotating part (9), h) a ring (15) is provided for aligning the ball bearing collar (7), i) a bellows (16), which is fastened with screws (17), is provided for protection against contamination, j) control pins (18) are arranged between the flange (1) and a base plate (11). <IMAGE>
