<p>PURPOSE:To decide a regular mask pattern, to attain the simplification and acceleration of thining processing, to prevent branched thin lines from occurring when thining by masking processing is performed, and to surely perform charac ter recognition in an image processing system for the thining, etc., applied to a digital image from an image reader. CONSTITUTION:The thining using a first class mask pattern provided with a function to convert a black pixel protruding over the boundary part of the image data into a white pixel is performed repeatedly(S1), and when the black pixel convertible into the white pixel by the first class mask pattern disappears(S2), a second class mask pattern provided with a function to excavate the boundary part of the image data in recessed shape by converting the black pixel into the white pixel is attached on the first class mask pattern, and the thining using those first and second class mask patterns is performed repeatedly.</p> |
