摘要 In a double-piston unit in which a piston of low mass carries out a reciprocal movement in cylinders with the same axis, the preferably hollow piston rod which connects the pistons, which are preferably thin, obliquely positioned plates of low mass, is provided with a single control groove which successively controls the flow of fluid out of an inlet in the centre housing between the cylinders in such a way that the inlet fluid at one time flows into one of the cylinders and at a following time into the other of the cylinders. The plurality of control grooves from published patent applications of the inventor are thus reduced to a single control groove, the flow cross-sections are constructed in a more streamlined fashion, the unit is simplified, its manufacture made cheaper and at the same time the degree of efficiency and the power with a given weight of the unit, which can be used in particular as a high-power internal combustion engine, are increased. In order to increase the power per given weight and dimensions and in order to increase the efficiency and the environmental friendliness by better combustion and less poisonous exhaust gases, in the advantageous embodiment the rinsing of the cylinder spaces is separated in terms of timing and spatially from the charging of the cylinder spaces so that in this embodiment the engine achieves, or approaches, the degree of cleanliness of operation of a four-stroke engine. <IMAGE>
