PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of various devices using a polyaniline electrode by using the polyaniline electrode in the potential range of 2.4-4.2V vs Li/Li<+> reference electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrode using polyaniline as an active material is used in the potential range of 2.4-4.2V vs Li/Li<+> reference electrode. If the polyaniline electrode is used in the potential higher than 4.2V, though the initial capacity is larger than that in the potential lower than 4.2V, polyaniline is decomposed, deteriorated, and dissolved in an electrolyte with time and discharge capacity is gradually decreased. As a result, cycle life is shortened and the reliability is decreased. If the electrode is used in the potential lower than 2.4V, polyaniline is decomposed and deteriorated, and the cycle life is shortened. The discharge capacity is retained in a high level for a long time and the efficiency and cycle life are increased. |
