The ladder to be supported laterally is of the type which has two parts pivotable around a common axis, of which at least one has rungs parallel with the pivoting axis. The side supports (6) are identical, and are fitted on each side of the ladder. They each have a yoke to which a support leg (8) is articulately connected. The yoke is a four-sided tube at each end of which is a pin extending outwards at right-angles. It has two fixture flanges (10) in its central part extending at right-angles in opposite directions. The fixture flanges have central holes and the support leg is tubular, having a support plate (11) at its lower end. At its upper end the leg has a through hole, is placed between the yoke fixture flanges where it is articulately connected by a bolt passing through the fixture flanges and its own hole. The yoke is fixed to the ladder by its pins which insert in a rung (4) in each part of the ladder. |
