PURPOSE:To obtain a medical utensil excellent in the preservability of erythrocytes and having high physiological safety, autoclave sterilizable heat resistance, high transparency and flexibility, by containing a vinyl chloride resin, a plasticizer and specific monocarboxylic ester. CONSTITUTION:This soft vinyl chloride resin composition contains 10-45wt.% a plasticizer and 1-30wt.% of monocarboxylic ester represented by RCOOR' (wherein R and R' are respectively a 3C or more linear hydrocarbon group and the sum of the number of carbon atoms of R and R' is 11-30 and at least one of R and R' has a branch structure). When this soft vinyl chloride resin composition is brought into contact with blood, the hemolysis of erythrocytes is prevented by the action of monocarboxylic ester eluted and transferred from the resin composition and a substance suppressing platelet coagulation capacity is not eluted and, therefore, said composition is excellent in the safety to a living body and has excellent protective action to erythrocytes. |
