The cylinder (1) has a combustion chamber (4) mounted on a cylinder head (3), where the chamber and/or the head includes inserts (6a, 6e) at high heat conductivity. The chamber is made of aluminum and the inserts of copper. The inserts are placed on hot zones or moved apart from an initial flame core of the chamber. Positioning of the inserts is limited to a part of the chamber. The inserts extend in non uniform and dissymmetrical manner with respect to a cylinder axis on the chamber and/or the head. The inserts offer path for flow of heat from the chamber towards coolant fluid e.g. water.
