摘要 Circuit arrangements of the said type usually act on the drive of a control element, which, bypassing the throttle valve, feeds additional air to the internal combustion engine. If a fault occurs in the circuit arrangement, it can happen that the control element opens fully, thereby causing an abrupt increase of the speed of the internal combustion engine, which results in a sudden acceleration of the vehicle driven by the internal combustion engine, especially in vehicles with automatic transmission. The new circuit arrangement is intended to prevent this and in addition to maintain the functional capability of the internal combustion engine. The output stage for triggering the drive for the control element contains a current limiting circuit in its load current circuit. The current limiting circuit is designed so that, if the maximum admissible current is exceeded, it limits the current to a preset value. The circuit arrangement can be used in all devices for idling charge control and reliably prevents the sudden engine speed increase and the associated sudden acceleration of the vehicle driven by the internal combustion engine whilst simultaneously maintaining the functional capability of the internal combustion engine.
