PURPOSE:To obtain a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image having excellent stability of a charge characteristic and durability at a low cost by polymerizing a monomer in the presence of a specific metallic complex. CONSTITUTION:A monomer is polymerized in the presence of the metallic complex expressed by the formula I (M is Co, Ni, Cu, Cr, Fe; X<+> is cation; Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4 are H, halogen atom, alkyl, alkoxy; n is 0-2). The metallic complex used is exemplified by the compd. shown by the formulas II, III, IV, etc. The amt. of the metallic complex to be added to a toner is preferably 0.1-5pts.wt. The applicable monomer is exemplified by a vinyl polymer having self-polymerizability, dibasic acid and glycol from which a polyester resin can be produced, etc. and is more preferably a vinyl monomer. |
