A process for the production of fiber reinforced flat bodies is described, wherein a water containing, flowable core layer is introduced between a substrate layer and a cover layer to form a three layer composite body with its own internal cohesion wherein at least one of the outer layers comprises actively needle bondable fibers which are bonded together by needling so that the layers remain together in a deformable state; the water containing, flowable core layers may consist of mud masses, paper strips or shreds soaked in water to which glue may be added, but also of a raw ceramic mass, which is not only reinforced by needling, but is simpler to manipulate.
|
